Dear Charter Member,
It’s that time of year again….time to don your new swimsuit and prepare for another hot Springfield summer!
The pool’s opening day and Annual Open House is Saturday, May 26th. Pool hours that day are 11am-9 pm. Please invite your neighbors and prospective members to join us for complimentary sodas and ice cream social from 1-3 pm . Board members will be available to answer questions and process memberships at that time. If you are able to assist with serving on the day could you please contact the board at email@example.com.
The Rolling Forest Pool membership fee remains one of the lowest in the Springfield area. That Said, due to increases in our costs, we had to increase our membership cost for 2018. This is our first increase in over 10 years. All of our members can enjoy free Wi-Fi at our well-maintained pool. Charter membership fees for the entire summer are just $400 per family. This fee covers all household members, including live-in caregivers residing in the household for the summer. Guests are permitted with a valid guest pass. We will again offer you the option to pay your membership by check or credit card (please contact Treasurer).
Additionally, if any current member in good standing refers a new associate member, both parties will receive a $50 refund. The new associate member that you refer must note your name on their membership form and purchase a full family membership to qualify for the refund.
We are acquiring a new membership system this year. This will allow us to send out invoices electronically and provide up-to-date pool news. The new system will be to process your payments online and will streamline the membership process. WE WILL EMAIL THE INVOICES NEXT YEAR! This will require us to validate your email address. Our lifeguards will verify your address prior to distributing your membership cards.
Pool members may reserve the pavilion for a fee of $10 per hour maximum of 3 hours during pool operating hours. This fee covers use of the grill and cleaning of the pavilion. Additional charges will apply for after-hours parties. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Where scheduling conflicts arise, swim team events and pool social activities have priority. For more information
about scheduling parties, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Guest passes are $2.00 per guest on Mondays thru Thursdays and $5.00 on Fridays thru Sundays and holidays. Guest passes are sold in $20 increments at the front desk and must be paid for by a check written to RFRA . These passes are non-refundable, but never expire and are transferable. We also offer a7-day family pass for $40 that affords unlimited swimming for your visitors.
Obligation of a Charter Member : Every lot owner will automatically, by the acceptance of the deed of conveyance, become a member of the Rolling Forest Recreation Association, Inc. With the acceptance of the deed of conveyance, comes the obligation to pay dues to RFRA which are separate from your HOA dues. The membership conveys with the property if the owner’s membership is in good standing, as set forth in all three HOA Declarations, Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions and in the RFRA By-Laws. As a Charter member, you have voting rights that other members do not have.
Our records indicate that you are a Charter member in good standing, and we thank you for upholding your obligation to pay pool dues. Owners who do not wish to swim will again have the option to “rent out” their membership. The rent-out fee for 2018 is $75. All Charter members who would like to rent out their membership must pay the full membership rate of $400 for the 2018 season. Once the membership has been rented out, you will be refunded $325. Rent out request must be paid by check and marked on your form as a rent out with both submitted at the same time. Rent-out requests are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, so please send in your request early. Requests and payment are due by May 15, 2018 .
Should you choose NOT to pay the membership fee or rent out your membership for 2018; the RFRA, Inc., will file an official lien against your property for any unpaid dues not received by the end of our swim season-Sept. 2, 2018. This lien will reflect an amount based on the last time dues were paid by the current owner. This action will continue each year until your dues are current.
In order to keep the costs as low as possible, we all need to work together. Donations of material items and/or handyman work are always welcome and are a great way to keep our operating costs down. Our goal is to pay for future increases in expenses by growing the membership base, rather than raising member fees. Please introduce friends and new neighbors to the pool so they can experience our hidden gem on Flax Street.
